We're Pregnant + Baby B's Gender Reveal!

Today I am bringing the blog back to life and officially announcing on my blog that I'm pregnant! We are expecting Baby B in early June! Here's this year's Christmas card that I designed and illustrated. Featuring a very important baby bump!

Our Gender Reveal Story
At first, I thought I wanted to do a little gender reveal party with our families. But the timing wasn't going to work out for our families to get together (and my husband was too impatient to wait longer than one day after receiving the envelope), so we nixed that idea.

The more I thought about it, the more I wanted to do a gender reveal with just me and Ben (PS -my best friend did her gender reveal this way and it sounded so sweet so we borrowed her idea!). We went to the doctor on Wednesday morning and got the ultrasound. We had the ultrasound tech write down the baby's gender and place it in a sealed envelope. After our appointment, we went to this cute little baby boutique, Shutter Bugs, and we picked out a baby boy onesie and a matching baby girl onesie. Ben found this adorable blue bear blanket that we picked out as well as a matching pink blanket. We gave the store manager our envelope and our boy and girl outfits. She was SO EXCITED to help us with this reveal! We walked into the other room as she opened the envelope and gift wrapped the appropriate gender outfit for us.

We left the store with the gift-wrapped box and we were SO EXCITED to open it. We drove to brunch and we literally could not wait any longer. So we opened the box in the car! As I was opening it, I told Ben that I still think it's a boy (I have thought that it was a boy the entire time). After fighting for a minute with the stubborn, beautifully wrapped yellow ribbon, I opened the box, removed the tissue paper, and found THIS!

IT'S A BOY!!! Ben and I hugged and I cried the happiest tears. We were overjoyed! We have decided that this moment goes down in the top 3 most joyful, happiest moments we have shared together. Ben took a video of me opening the gift which we have watched like 10 times since that moment. It is the sweetest!!!

I wouldn't trade this moment for anything in the world. If you are on the fence about how you'd like to do your gender reveal, with family or alone as a couple, I would encourage you to soak in this moment as a couple . It was so perfect in every way!

I am almost 20 weeks pregnant now and am loving this season of life! We have so much to look forward to. Now we get to start thinking about nursery decorating and registries! I'd love to hear your favorite items that you registered for!

Thanks for reading, friends!
